Breakfast for today
So here's breakfast for today. Protein shake and Banana. Nothing fancy and not super healthy, but surely not as bad as chick fila... oh how I miss thee already.

Lunch for today
So this is lunch for today, it's also what I had for dinner last night and what I'll have for dinner tonight(I'll mix in some salsa tonight and maybe some brown rice):
Grilled Chicken with Steamed Squash, Okra and Zucchini.
I also need to drink a gallon of water each day. I'm 3/4 way through for today. :P

Spartan Race and the Beginning of This Blog
So I signed up for the Spartan Race. For those that are unfamiliar this is a race that takes place in a little over two weeks and it's a 5k with obstacles. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b5eHNzmjEE8 Expectations are that it will be intense for someone in my shape but not undoable. I started back at the gym yesterday and it felt great. I hadn't been away but for two weeks and fortunately my body still remembered it because I'm not in to much pain today.
Why Food for Fuel?
That is an excellent question. The reason I choose this name is because of my friend Rick. We were talking one day and he said to me I just look at food like it's fuel for my body. I eat what I need and leave out the unhealthy stuff. It won't help to my goal of being fit. I thought to myself, "but I love to eat". That's when it dawned on me: Food is for Fuel, Not for Enjoyment. Don't get me wrong we have taste buds for a reason but everyday when I would go out to eat I'd say to myself what do I feel like eating, better yet what do I feel like tasting? I realized I should be saying to myself, what octane of fuel do I want to put in my body? What will help me become more physically fit.

I have created this blog for accountability. I am hoping that my friends will read it every so often and help me keep myself accountable. I want people to call me out when I eat bad or when I haven't been working out enough. Let's see how it goes.
